Section 1: Tools and Measurements
In the first part of the course, you will learn the essential principles of Pattern Making. You will learn about the specific tools, such as the AB Square Template for Pattern Drafting, as well as other rulers and tools necessary for the work. Through our detailed instructions on measuring your body, you will practice taking measurements yourself. The goal is to understand the difference between ready-to-wear sizes and individual body measurement charts and learn how to create your own measurement chart. This will make you aware of various proportions and silhouettes.

Section 2: Made-to-Measure Pattern Blocks
In the second section of the course, you will learn the fundamentals of patternmaking for women's, men's, and children's clothing. You will gradually develop the basic patterns using the AB-GeoRectangle. You will learn how to create the basic patterns quickly and easily in various body measurements. You will learn to draw basic patterns for tops, sleeves, skirts, pants, and dresses in practice measurements and then for different silhouettes on paper. The goal of this section is to learn how to create your own customized basic patterns for clothing. These patterns can be used for creating made-to-measure clothes for yourself or for others.

Section 3: Fitting Adjustments and Cutting Instructions
In this section, you will learn how to analyze and optimize the fit of your basic patterns blocks through adjustments and fittings. We will delve into the nuances of adjusting basic patterns to specific body shapes and sizes, allowing you to customize the patterns to fit different proportions and ensure a perfect fit. This skill is vital for creating tailored garments that meet individual needs and preferences.
In addition, you will gain all the tips and tricks you need for cutting your fabric. We will show you how to professionally prepare your pattern pieces and how to work with special fabrics. Whether it's stretch fabrics, silky materials, or challenging prints - by the end of this section, you will be able to handle them effortlessly.

Section 4: Women's Clothing
Through the development from basic blocks to various pattern styles, you will learn to design your own dream designs. Our pedagogical structure provides you with the foundation by starting with the basic pattern blocks and then developing a variety of pattern styles and additional variations from there. The range extends from simple to complex styles. You will learn how to create classic shirts, elegant dresses, fitted jackets, extravagant coats with unique sleeves and collars, as well as playful skirts, casual skirt-pants, office-appropriate trousers, and comfortable maternity pants.
In our course, all types of garments, including bodysuits and bikinis, will be covered.

Section 5: Men's Clothing
You will learn to develop a wide range of pattern styles for men's clothing from various basic men's styles. You will learn how to design classic to casual shirts, sport jackets, traditional blazers, elegant cutaways, coats such as duffle or trench coats, trousers, and vests. Adapting men's styles to ensure a perfect fit is an important part of the course. You will significantly expand your pattern making skills.

Section 6: Children's Clothing
With our pattern system, you will learn to create basic patterns in children's sizes and develop a variety of pattern styles for children's clothing. In the children's category, we focus specifically on three age groups: babies, toddlers, young children and children up to 12 years old. During the course, you will learn to design comfortable, crawlers, outfits with tops and pants or skirts, everyday dresses, and unisex jackets with collars or hoods. You will also learn to design girl's coats and boy's blazers for special occasions. These garments are designed specifically for children and will be part of the course content.

Ismene Vouyouka
Ismene's passion for pattern making began at a young age, as she learned from her grandmother and mother. Fashion runs in her family, with her grandfather being a tailor and her grandmother founding a fashion design school in Greece after completing her training in Italy.
Building on her family's legacy, Ismene's mother, Anastasia Vouyouka, invented and patented a pattern system based on her mother's experiences and secrets. As an educator, Anastasia developed a unique learning method for pattern making, which Ismene and her sister Liana now carry forward.
Ismene pursued her studies in the United Kingdom, in clothing design and production management, as well as marketing and distribution. She gained valuable experience working in clothing companies in the UK, where she quickly realized the importance of accurate skills in garment making.
Recognizing the need for proper training, Ismene dedicated eight years in Cedefop the agency on Vocational Training of the European Union. However, her passion for her family's business eventually led her back to the fold. In 2006, alongside her sister Liana, Ismene digitized the pattern making methodology and other clothing skills and launched eTelestia.com, an innovative e-learning platform for sewing enthusiasts.
Ismene's mission is to provide for you a simple methodology and accurate training to help you design your dream clothes without relying on commercial sewing patterns.
