A very interesting meeting on 21st May at Liverpool College, the UK F&T Apprenticeship Provider Meeting.
There was a chance to discuss training issues on young students, particularly those studying technological subjects and pattern skills.
There was general acknowledgement that there is a problem in skills and the process of learning uptake, which affects industry performance.
Anastasia Vouyouka presented the Telestia interactive pattern Making methodology ,in relation to the Apparel Product Development QCF Diploma, and Wendy Coley from Fashion Enter announced the coming seminar for 'Train the Trainer' that they are running in September with Telestia.
The Telestia educational content uses interactive multimedia, and a training simulation environment that has got many international awards,and has proven very effective in encouraging results.

'After many moons of searching for a pattern system that can be used properly and efficiently I found Telestia. I found that drafting a flat pattern with the old method and lots of calculations and so on a bit of a large task (specially with my kids that grow way too fast) It almost did not seem worth it.I find working with the patterns and playing with the lines and trying to visualize the the end result and the processes of making it one of the most satisfying activities I have ever come across. :)

The more I thought it was impossible to do the cutting and drawing, the more it got interesting and the more I came up with different ideas to design. It is amazing the way you can become a designer or tailor through online learning.

Το e-Telestia κερδίζει Ευρωπαϊκο Βραβείο
Το eTelestia επιλέχθηκε μεταξύ 100 υποψηφίων εταιρειών για να λάβει την Ευρωπαϊκή Σφραγίδα Αριστείας στα Πολυμέσα,το 2005 (link). 41 εταιρείες από 13 χώρες έλαβαν αυτήν την Σφραγίδα αλλά μόνο λίγες έλαβαν την ύψιστη διάκριση της Πλατινένιας σφραγίδας. Η ομάδα του eTelestia είναι περήφανη που είναι ανάμεσα σε αυτές τις εταιρείες. Η Ευρωπαϊκή Σφραγίδα Αριστείας στα Πολυμέσα απονέμεται για να ανταμείψει εταιρείες Υψηλής Τεχνολογείας ICT (Information Communication technology) &ψηφιακών πολυμέσων (digital media) με άριστη διαχείριση στον τομέα του marketing. Η σφραγίδα παραχωρείται ετησίως από την European Multimedia Associations Convention (EMMAC), μέσα στα πλαίσια της European Multimedia Accelerator.
Η Λιάνα Βουγιούκα στη CEBIT, παραλαβή της "Seal of Excellence" απο τον Philippe Wacker, του European Multimedia Accelerator.

Τα Προγράμματα eTelestia είναι πλούσια σε κινούμενα σχέδια, γραφικά και βίντεο και είναι interactive. To περιεχόμενο των μαθημάτων και η δομή του eTelestia εχουν τιμηθεί με τη Σφραγίδα ΠοιότηταςEUROPRIX 2002.
Η ανεξάρτητη ειδική επιτροπή του Διαγωνισμού ΕUROPRIX 2002 έχει απονείμει την επίσημη Σφραγίδα Ποιότητας EUROPRIX 2002 για τα προγράμματα TELESTIA AB στην κατηγορία Εκπαιδευση (Learning) και ηλεκτρονική Εκπαιδευση (e-Education). Τα προγράμματα TELESTIA AB αξιολογήθηκαν από δύο διαφορετικές επιτροπές σε δυο γύρους, όπου στα προγράμματα TELESTIA AB απενεμήθη η Σφραγίδα Ποιότητας. Η Σφραγίδα Ποιότητας EUROPRIX 2002 απονέμεται σε αυτά τα προϊόντα που η επιτροπή κρείνει ότι παρέχουν μιά ξεκάθαρη προστιθέμενη αξία από πολυμέσα (multimedia) στούς χρήστες.
Η απονομή της επίσημης Σφραγίδας Ποιότητας EUROPRIX 2002 δείχνει ότι τα προγράμματα TELESTIA AB έχουν αξιολογηθεί και κρινεί ότι καλύπτουν ή ξεπερνούν τα υψηλά κριτήρια τεχνολογικής αριστείας που απαιτείται από την επιτροπή Europrix στις παρακάτω κατηγορίες:
- ποιότητα και ευκολία κατανόησης του περιεχομένου
- άνεση στη χρήση: λειτουργικότητα, πλοήγηση
- προστιθέμενη αξία με υπερμέσα (interactivity)
- ελκυστικότητα: αισθητική αξία
- ποιότητα τεχνικής υλοποίησης
